Contessa Puppy

Who knew that a 4lb Italian Greyhound would have such an influence on my life and be the name of my new company. People say they are just dogs, well that is true, but they can have such a larger impact on your life if you just pay attention. She was my angel and anyone who met her knew why she was amazing. She visited more states than most people approximately 25 and lived in 5 different states in her short life. I learned so much from her over her short 11 years. I learned how cuddling is not a bad thing, to give a hug every day even if you think you don’t need it. Most of all how strong one little “person” can be. My motto after Tessa has been if she could get through all she did then I can go after my dreams and goals. Have courage and just jump, you may fail, but you will never know until you try.

Most of all from this little soul I learned strength. I watched her go through 3rd degree burns from a vet who left her on a heating blanket too long during a surgery, a tumor removal that returned 2 years later. This lead to chemo, radiation and more chemo which extended her life 2 more years until an amputation of the leg. This gave us another year and no matter what she went through she was still happy and wanted to just have the ball thrown.

The day she passed away 2 years ago today was her one last gift to me. I was deciding on when I would let her go because I never wanted her to suffer. She didn’t let me make that decision. I didn’t have to schedule the appointment. She knew it was time to go and made the decision and just did it. She let me know she was leaving and I got one last long hug in and she was gone. The rainbow bridge story is amazing and so very sad, but the day I see her again I will let her know she was the best thing in my life and I can’t wait to get a Tessa hug they were amazing.

So I have given my angel the honor of my new company name TESS Team and I am jumping! I miss you everyday and I don’t know where this will lead, but I am going to have the strength and courage as she would to give it my best shot.
