Dynamics 365 Business Central has two major releases a year called Wave 1 and Wave2 with lots of anticipated features. The following are a couple of more features that are being deployed in the October 2021 Wave 2 release that I feel some of the best new features.
Where did my Edit/Open in Excel go?
As users are getting updated to Dynamics 365 Business Central V19 I am hearing they got rid of Open and Edit in Excel! Why would Microsoft do this???
They didn’t! If you take a look to the right you will see a new icon before the filter icon.
Yes it looks like a share icon and that is because that is what it is. They have moved the Open and Edit in Excel to the share icon along with another new feature of sharing in Teams. Your same old trusty Open and Edit are still there they are just moved again as they used to be found under Page in most of the windows.
Take a look over to the share icon and try it out and then if you are a fan of teams see what you can do there as well.
Budget Filters
This is a much needed feature that is now available. Previously when you had more than one budget in Dynamics 365 Business Central you would have to add a filter in Account Schedules so that the budgets would not add on top of each other.
Now you will see a few new fields Budget Id and Budget Name have been added to the column layouts so that you can now have a budget and forecast in the columns on your financial reports! This is an awesome new addition to the financials in Dynamics 365 Business Central. A simple change with a big impact.
Just another great feature in Dynamics 365 Business Central V 19.
