BC Features Unknown (Drag and Drop)
I wouldn’t call myself a BC “Newbie”, but I haven’t been using it for 20 years. I am running into features that I say “HUMMM” I didn’t know you could do that! So I am guessing I am not alone in this so I wanted to write a blog post with some small, but cool features I have recently learned about.
Choose Drag and Drop
Adding documents to transactions is a highly used feature. This feature will save you a few clicks especially if you are using a document that is attached to an email. So the basic principle is that you will choose the number under the Attachments/Documents section in the Fact Box.
This will open the Edit – Attached Documents window where you can start the process to select a file to attach. This will allow you to choose Select File which opens the Attach a document window.
At this window you can click Choose and browse to the file location OR you can drag the file from the location / email and drop it on the Choose button. You will notice the cursor changes to have a box with a small + sign.
This will attach the document to the transaction.
There is also a free extension by Insight Works DocXtender that will add a drop icon in the Attachments window that will save a few clicks. So any window that has the Attachments / Documents area will add this icon and all you have to do is drop the file on this icon and it will attach the document to the transaction.
